L’Amant anonyme to be heard around the world

From Milan to New York, Barcelona to Chicago, WFMT broadcasts performances from the finest stages around the world including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, the Paris Opera, and once again --Haymarket Opera Company!

L’Amant anonyme was recorded in studio by Cedille Records for album release in February 2023. This preview broadcast is shared by Haymarket Opera Company and Cedille Records. For over three decades, Cedille has recorded Chicago’s most important musicians and musical institutions. This is the first collaboration between Haymarket and Cedille, and the first-ever complete recording of Joseph Bologne’s only extant opera, L’Amant anonyme.

This broadcast is presented as part of the historic Saturday matinee radio broadcasts that began at the Metropolitan Opera, and is hosted in a syndicated broadcast through the WFTM Summer Opera Series outside of the Metropolitan’s season. Haymarket’s L’amant anonyme joins the series in an international broadcast on November 5, 2022 at 12pm CT.

Hosted by Lisa Flynn, the broadcast will feature interviews with general director Chase Hopkins, HOC founder and conductor Craig Trompeter, and soprano Nicole Cabell.
